Do you stand with your knees locked? Did you know that your body’s response to locked knees is to inhibit movement in the rest of the body?
If it was only a matter of releasing those muscles when you’re going to move it wouldn’t be such a problem; but the habit of tension created from that locked up position will resonate into all movement including running and walking.
